If you love almond butter and the classic Nutella spread, this recipe is for you! This chocolate almond butter is my latest obsession. Almond butter is a staple in our home and adding chocolate only makes it more delicious!

Nut butters are a great way to add some more protein and healthy fats to a snack to make it more well-balanced and satisfying. As written, this recipe is not super sweet, but feel free to add more sweetener to get the flavor you prefer!

You can also try substituting another nut or seed to accommodate for allergies or preferences. Chocolate peanut butter is amazing!

I absolutely love combining this spread with apples, bananas, toast, pretzels, and whole wheat crackers!

Chocolate Almond Butter
The Perfect Chocolatey, Satiating Snack!
Servings: 8 Servings
Equipment
- High Speed Blender or Food Processor
Ingredients
- 2 cups Whole Roasted Almonds (or 12 oz. natural store bought almond butter)
- 3 1/2 tbsp Cocoa Powder
- 3 tbsp Coconut Sugar or Cane Sugar (or more if needed)*
- 1 tsp Vanilla Extract
- 1/2 tbsp Olive Oil
- 1/4 tsp Salt (adjust to preferred taste)**
Instructions
- To a food processor or high-speed blender, add the almonds. Blend until smooth. (Skip this step if using almond butter instead of almonds).
- Add the cocoa powder, sugar, oil, vanilla, and salt to the blender or food processor and combine until smooth. Adjust for desired sweetness/saltiness and enjoy with your favorite snacks!
Notes
*This recipe is not very sweet as written, so feel free to adjust the amount of sugar to get the sweetness you like!
**If you are using salted almonds or almond butter, I would wait to add the salt until everything else is blended and adjust to your preferred taste, to ensure that it is not too salty!
