Have you ever found yourself craving some chips and salsa or wanting to add something extra to a meal, but you don’t have a jar of salsa lying around? This salsa recipe allows you to whip up a salsa quickly with simple ingredients from your pantry and fridge!
Tomatoes are an essential part to this simple salsa recipe. Tomatoes are a great source of many nutrients such as Vitamin C, Vitamin A, fiber, and potassium (USDA). These nutrients, along with the acidity and sweetness of tomatoes, make them a great addition to any dish.
This quick recipe also uses onion, jalapeño, garlic, lime, and cilantro for a fresh and flavorful salsa. Enjoy this salsa with your favorite meals or snacks for up to 1 week.
5-Minute Blender Salsa
A simple, easy, and delicious salsa!
Servings: 8
Equipment
- Blender
Ingredients
- 1 15 oz. can Diced Tomatoes – I prefer to use fire roasted for more depth of flavor
- 1/2 large White Onion, diced
- 1 Jalapeño, diced
- 2 cloves Garlic minced
- 1 Lime, juiced
- 1/4 – 1/2 tsp Salt (to taste)
- 1/2 tbsp Sugar
- (optional) 1 handful Cilantro
- (optional) 1/2 tsp Cumin
Instructions
- Chop up the veggies roughly and add all of the ingredients to your blender.
- Blend by pulsing for a few seconds at a time, until you reach the desired consistency. I prefer my salsa a little bit chunky, but you can make a smoother salsa if that’s what you prefer!
- Enjoy with some tortilla chips or as a topping to a dish! This should last refrigerated for 5-7 days.
